Bodywise - Somatic Yoga Basics Journey

4-Part Live Online Course with Veera Korjala

Sep 18 - Oct 9, 2025

What is Somatic Yoga?
Somatic yoga is not about perfect poses or performance — it’s about listening to your body from the inside out. Instead of forcing yourself into pose alignment, you’re guided into curiosity, subtle awareness, and natural movement that arises from within. It’s a practice of presence, nervous system regulation, and compassionate connection with yourself.

In this course, you’ll learn the core principles of Somatic Healing while using the foundational pillars of Yoga:

  • Body awareness – recognizing the signals and wisdom your body is always communicating

  • Nervous system regulation – learning proven practices that bring you back to connection, balance, and resilience

  • Trauma sensitivity & safety – moving gently in ways that support your practice without overwhelm, anxiety, fear, etc. Safe, trauma-informed practices that support to be with what arises

  • Boundaries & self-trust – feeling what “yes” and “no” are in your body, and expressing them clearly

  • Compassionate connection – strengthening the relationship with yourself through kindness and presence.

Benefits you may notice:
🦋 A deeper sense of calm and grounding
🦋 Relief from mental stress, physical tension or emotional overwhelm

Somatic Yoga Testimonials:

After the class, the tightness in my lower back was gone. Usually, savasana lying on my back feels uncomfortable for me, but after somatic yoga it didn’t. Among the stress responses, freezing felt the most familiar to me. As I shook it off, it felt like pieces of ice were falling away from me. I felt very calm after the class 🙏

Katriina Mannonen

Even though the somatic exercises in the third class (boundaries and people pleasing) weren’t physically demanding in themselves, during the practice my legs were shaking and I was sweating. Afterwards I thought, it felt just like I had done a sweaty workout!

Katariina Soldan

Somatic work gave me permission to be with myself in a holistic way. IFS and the related conversations expanded my thinking and made me question my own behaviors and patterns. I also gained inspiration for balancing my nervous system and for recognizing imbalance more clearly. I loved that, in addition to all the deep work, there was also room for dancing and joy. All emotions were welcome.

Mirella Ikäheimo

My whole body became really hot, sweat was pouring as if I had done a more intense workout, and at the end of the practice I started to cry. Really powerful!
